While Thuan An Beach is becoming infamous due to the high concentration of people esp. in hot summers and too expensive services, Vinh Thanh Beach is step by step taking its place despite the long distance from the city of Hue, 30km away. We were unlucky because the road there was being upgraded; it will be better anyway.
Late summer. It raind almost every afternoon with thunder crashing in the sky now and then. But a schedule was a schedule. We drove to the beach with menacing grey rainny cloud above our heads. But there were swimmers in water still and we regretted we hadn't prepared for a swim...
Impressive were the wooden boats calmly resting on the sandy beach with fishemen preparing for an early fishing catch the next morning.
A family playing with the waves.
The sea was a little bit rough that day because of the weather and the beach was not crowded. Just perfect for us.

This can be experience for you too. If you want to have good food on the beach, consider the weather before departure. Because we were there on a rainny day, we couldn't have fresh seafood as expected because fishermen hadn't been able to go to sea the day before. While we were enjoying seafood, it rained and rained profusely. But we all felt excited because rarely had we seen rain at the sea. Fortunate enough, the rain didn't last very long. It stopped by the time we got on the coach for home...
That's how we began another new school year.
